I was born in 1983 in Alexandria, Virginia, to Taiwanese immigrants. I grew up in Central Florida. I have a B.A. in journalism from New York University. I've taught in Sarah Lawrence College's MFA program and am the author of ten books, including four novels. My writing has been published or is forthcoming in New York Times Book Review, Harper's, Granta, Paris Review Daily, NOON, and elsewhere.
